Col Jayson Altieri of the North Carolina Wing, an active-duty U.S. Army Colonel and commander of the 110th Aviation Brigade at Fort Rucker, Alabama, has been made the new chairman of the Civil Air Patrol Board of Governors.

He is unaware of the mess of corruption into which he is stepping. His interactions with CAP egos and suspected pedophiles could lead to future embarrassment in his U.S. Army career.

Col Altieri, who became the BoG’s vice chairman in June 2014, succeeds retired U.S. Air Force Maj Gen John M. Speigel, USAF as chairman.

The new vice chairman is Col William A. Davidson, who has been a CAP board member since November 2011 and former administrative assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force.  Col Davidson will be a key player in running the Audit and Personnel Committees.

Col Altieri joined CAP as a cadet in the Virginia Wing in 1979, five years before the start of his military service in 1984 as an enlisted soldier in the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division.
