Dear AuxBeacon:
Here’s a story you could run for some of us who can’t speak openly.
The definition of a COUP or COUP D’ETAT would be an illegal and unconstitutional attempt by the military or other elites within a government to unseat the sitting executive, usually by violent means.
The process of IMPEACHMENT is authorized by the US Constitution as follows:
“The President, Vice President and all Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
— U.S. Constitution, Article II, section 4
I only mention this because both Donald Trump and our U.S. Representative from New York’s 2nd congressional district seem to be as oblivious to the difference as Rep. Maxine Waters.
“As I learn more and more each day, I am coming to the conclusion that what is taking place is not an impeachment, it is a COUP, intended to take away the Power of the People…”
– Pres. Donald Trump, Oct. 1 2019
“One of the most disgraceful examples of an abuse of power by a government official…when you read this report…this is a systematic effort to go after Candidate Trump, President Elect-Trump, and President Trump….you could virtually call this an attempted coup.”
– Rep. Pete King (R-NY)
House Democrats are initiating a legal process for removing the president enshrined in the Constitution, which the educated elite view as pretty much the opposite of an extrajudicial overthrow of a leader by military force.
My congressman is known for saying some pretty whack things.
“I hate Ted Cruz, and I think I’ll take cyanide if he ever got the nomination. Now, having said that, I think you’re going to see Donald Trump scoring a big victory tonight. I have not endorsed Donald Trump. In fact, I actually voted by absentee ballot for John Kasich.”
– Rep. Pete King (R-NY), April 19 2016
“Disgraceful that @nyjets ownner will pay fines for players who kneel for National Anthem. Encouraging a movement premisd on lies vs. police. Would he support all player protests? Would he pay fines of players giving Nazi salutes or spew racism? It’s time to say goodbye to the Jets!”
– Rep. Pete King (R-NY), May 26 2018
Peter King’s past as an IRA apologist for their brand of terrorism is worth looking into.
It is pronounced NRA not IRA. sheesh
