To those with at least a fair knowledge of CIA activities, Evergreen International Airlines is known to be a CIA proprietary, operated by CIA assets. Evergreen International was based out of Marana Air Park near Tucson Arizona and McMinnville Oregon, near Portland. Other CIA “proprietary” airlines such as Air America and Air Asia also operated out of Marana during the Vietnam War years. The parent company for Evergreen International Airlines is The Evergreen Group, a Delaware corporation.

The Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum and the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) have a proud history of working together. From helping to escort the “Spruce Goose” to the Museum along Highway 18 in 1993, to presenting the color guard at special events, the CAP has been an active participant in the Museum’s history. The Museum serves as headquarters for the local squadron and is a partner and host to the annual MKS Aviation Business Academy, a National Cadet Special Activity. The founder and CEO of Evergreen International Aviation, Inc. [Delford M. Smith] was an Honorary Member of the CAP, and both staff and volunteers are members of the McMinnville Squadron.
