[Update: This week we’ve received more stories and requests related to Civil Air Patrol’s embarrassments with government relations.]
[Editor’s Note: The anonymous author of this continuously developing article seeks to assemble stories regarding Civil Air Patrol’s disturbing power and influence grab through its Government Relations Program and circumvention of the Hatch Act and IRS 501c3 regulations. The author claims to be motivated by Lt Col Mark Kempton and Capt Kevin Powers, Cali Wing’s Government Relations Advisor and Assistant, respectively.]

Civil Air Patrol’s Tom Carper: “Good riddance” to Trump’s EPA Chief Scott Pruitt; Trump Buried Climate Report
“I think we can all agree: [Trump EPA chief] Scott Pruitt shouldn’t be running anything. A well-deserved, one-way ticket back to Oklahoma. In coach! I know a little about leadership, and this guy was just not a leader. And we’re better off without him. Our country’s better off without him. And, I hate to be unkind about it but, frankly, good riddance.” – Sen Tom Carper, Lt Col Civil Air Patrol
“The truth of the matter is that the Trump Administration tried to bury one of the most devastating climate reports in our nation’s history over a long holiday weekend. While Americans were celebrating with loved ones, President Trump hoped that we would miss the alarming conclusions from scientists within his own government about the ever-increasing threats of climate change.” – Sen Tom Carper, Lt Col Civil Air Patrol

Major Kitchens joins 35 Assembly members and 19 state senators and who have received membership in Civil Air Patrol as a part of the organization’s efforts in lobbying and influence peddling.

When asked to share why he should be elected to New London City Council, Republican candidate Adam Sprecace listed Civil Air Patrol. People are definitely using Civil Air Patrol to pad their resumes.
– Former New London City Councilor (2007-2013) and previous Deputy Mayor
– Native and nearly life-long resident of New London
– Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer
– Engineering Supervisor at Electric Boat and CT licensed Professional Engineer
– Member, Board of Directors of Higher Edge College Access Program
– Member, St. Joseph Parish Pastoral Council
– Private Pilot and Mission Pilot for the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol
Don’t forget former USAF instructor pilot and speed demon Gary Wheaton.
Why are you saying that Civil Air Patrol is in violation of the Hatch Act? Civil Air Patrol isn’t legally bound by the Hatch Act.
[EDPACSO: We aren’t. We’ve never used the words “violation of the Hatch Act” with regard to Civil Air Patrol. If someone has told you that we have, then they have misled you. All the stories on AuxBeacon suggest that some very manipulative, self-serving people with a political agenda are using the Air Force style trimmings of Civil Air Patrol to “get around the Hatch Act,” to “circumvent the Hatch Act,” or to “skirt the Hatch Act.” They present themselves draped in military-style uniforms with flags and cadets in attempt to seize a moral or patriotic authority. This is neither valid nor authorized.
Your question is helpful, so I’ve asked one of our Atlantic Coast editors to pick this up and guide you through some examples tomorrow morning.]
Thank you. I searched for the words you placed into quotes and found those stories to verify what you told me. You have an amazing talent for trapping your opposition into writing the most easily refuted lies.
[EDLANNO: Our response is for you to consider the source. Stripped of his command, he would never be cited or even used in RCLS, right? We must never display firearms or use violent words to intimidate our elected officials or political opposition. Those who do this are self destructing all around us and failing to advance further within the limits of the program and/or life itself. Now that the facts have gotten out and people are no longer alone, Civil Air Patrol has many angry members and former members trying to expose the abuse they have suffered. We still encourage you to be as kind as possible as you present truth to power. Consider turning your attention now to something else.]
CAP Mark L. Norton ran unsuccessfully for the Edmonds School Board in 2015.
You seem busy. So, maybe use my graphic or this link to ballotpedia to show that Civil Air Patrol Commander-in-Pimp Mark L. Norton tried to get into public office with a position of authority over children.
I will post this here and on your Mark L. Norton story in hopes it don’t get lost.
I saw my Louisiana congressman’s performance on the tube today and I want to talk about him and the Civil Air Patrol connection. But I’m not gonna put a whole lot of effort into it if you won’t publish the story. Let me know?
[Admin: He’s definitely connected. Tell us what you want to tell us.]
CAP is rapidly scrambling to deal with what you have shown here. Look up our Kentucky Lt Gov who was just “surprise” inducted into Civil Air Patrol this past November. Seriously.
[Editor: We’ve looked at this story and she was inducted in 2014, but surprise promoted to Lt Col in late October 2018. She does appear to have been used by what she might call “DARK FORCES”. We’ll try to get a story out soon on this. Thank you.]
CAP Legislative week = HUGE waste of tax payer dollars to fly in dozens of members to suck up to Congress for its annual funds. They stay in 5-star accommodations, eat 5-star food, expect 5-star treatment and showcase cadets to appear relevant.
Oh, man! Exposing this link to US government “in-appropriations” to Civil Air Patrol is really going to panic the leadership. It also could be a boon to those just waking up to how these people have worked the Jedi mind tricks to seed a generation of deluded voters that put a man like Donald Trump into the White House.
Please be sure to add our Joel Kitchens to your growing list of how CAP gains an advantage lobbying congress by giving away membership and rank.
On the morning of July 21st 2018 Wisconsin’s Joel Kitchens was at Cherryland Airport for a ceremony performed by members of the Door County Composite Squadron of the Civil Airport, inducting Kitchens as a major in the Wisconsin Wing Legislative Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP). He joins 19 state senators and 35 Assembly members who have joined CAP, which is the United States Air Force Auxiliary.
Kitchens was inducted by Lt. Col. David Fish, squadron commander of the Door County CAP.
Kitchens then held an informal Q&A session with the five cadets who attended the regular meeting of the organization.
