[Editor’s NoteIf not for the watchful eye and efforts of our readers, we would have missed this story.  Thank you for your contribution.]

I recently read the angry words of one current, or perhaps former, Civil Air Patrol member who used harsh words to describe the weakness of Maj Gen Mark Smith, national commander of Civil Air Patrol. I thought for sure this was some kind of over reaction to common ignorance  among the membership.

But no.

In desperation to unseat Louisiana Governor and West Point graduate John Bel Edwards, Ralph Abraham has blown the pandering dog-whistle to suggest that Nancy Pelosi should be expelled from the House of Representatives.  He then donned the Air Force style uniform associated with Civil Air Patrol to make his political pitch to the public in violation of military tradition, Civil Air Patrol regulations, IRS regulations and Mark Smith’s weak orders.

The jig is up and the concerns of your contributors are proven valid. Civil Air Patrol hacks are using the Air Force style uniform to intimidate others in their day-to-day lives and on social media to place more of Vladimir Putin’s pawns into positions of political power around the United States.

This is not only a violation of what would be a Total Force tradition, it is a violation of IRS regulations regarding 501(c)(3) entities.

To be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, an organization must be organized and operated exclusively for exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3), and none of its earnings may inure to any private shareholder or individual. In addition, it may not be an action organization, i.e., it may not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities and it may not participate in any campaign activity for or against political candidates.

Through many stories over the past few years, your contributors have demonstrated Civil Air Patrol’s repeated attempts to influence the outcome of political campaigns and to create and populate Legislative Squadrons over which Ralph Abraham is the national commander for just this purpose.

It is no wonder that genuine service members such as the US Army Green Berets have expressed their disdain for this candidate.

  1. This is not going to end well for porcelain RALPH

  2. This is why the US Air Force has such disrespect for Civil Air Patrol members- I hope at some point the USAF closes down the CAP- or at very least eliminates the Senior Member USAF style officer program-while allowing cadets to continue to wear the uniform. I spent over twenty years as a CAP senior member- In public affairs- My apologies to all active USAF reserve USAF and Air National Guard members for the dishonor the CAP has caused

  3. Rep. Abraham has missed 41.9% of votes in the 116th Congress (2019-20). This makes him the 1st most absent member of the House.

  4. The IRS don’t care if their lawmaker violates the law. Now, if he was the general public, he’d be audited, investigated, and charged.

Abraham has been getting away with this since the beginning of when he first ran for Congress. The IRS didn’t cared then and the IRS won’t do anything about it in the future.

  5. I thought your team would be celebrating Opioid Ralph’s loss last night?

  6. And now, AuxBeacon has another highly public Civil Air Patrol political embarrassment.

  7. Thank you for doing your part to keep this idiot out of the Governor’s seat.

Abraham sounded like an idiot at the Trump rally tonight. I don’t think he stands a chance.

  9. This is going to blow up in Civil Air Patrol’s face like Richard Bowling’s humiliating NASCAR defeat.

  10. Ralph Abraham has been campaigning and fundraising in his CAP uniform since 2013 with no regard for tradition or regulations. This lawBREAKER needs to be terminated, but our General Desiree Smith is too weak.
